Editorial Policy

People-first purpose

Content must help a homeowner make a safer, clearer decision even if the visitor never contacts a company. We do not publish pages merely to repeat a location and keyword.

Research hierarchy

Safety statements favor primary government sources. Standards organizations, manufacturer instructions and industry-certification organizations are identified by type rather than presented as government authorities. Local requirements are treated as verification items unless an applicable authority has been checked.

Claims we prohibit

We do not invent first-hand jobs, customer outcomes, certifications, expert reviewers, neighborhood facts, code requirements or company performance. Illustrative scenarios are conspicuously labeled fictional.

AI and automation

AI may assist with drafting, organization and contextual imagery. Automation is not evidence. Material is reviewed for internal consistency, unsupported claims, safety boundaries, source characterization, duplication and user value before publication. AI images are editorial illustrations, not documentation of a real company or job.

Authorship and review

The organizational byline identifies the responsible publishing desk. A “reviewed” date means the page received a substantive editorial check; dates are not changed solely to create an appearance of freshness. If a qualified external specialist later reviews content, their name, relevant credential and role should be shown accurately.

Updates and corrections

Material changes should update the visible review date and structured data. Documented errors are handled under the Corrections Policy.
